Dropping her volatile Deadgirl mixtape late 2022, Mimi Barks put the world of aggressive music on notice, doubling down on her consuming brand of genre melding doom trap. The reach of the release ultimately propelled Barks to secure some of her biggest shows to date in 2023, landing prestigious spots at Download Festival, 2000 Trees Festival and Graspop just to name a few. 

Riding that skyrocketing trajectory, Barks is now poised to once again cause a shift in the scene, confirming the arrival of her debut full length album, This Is Doom Trap, landing September 26th via Silent Cult. Working with a team of trusted, accomplished producers to materialize her vision, the album includes entries from MorgothBeatz (Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker), Brian Spencer (Slipknot, Scarlxrd) and Kenny Graves (Stitches, HXXXD, and Cody Manson). 

Kicking off her charge towards the September due date, Barks has fired the first shot, unloading the single, "FSU", marking her first showing of new material since Deadgirl.

Paired with the single's arrival, Barks has dropped the new visual for the track which emphasizes the kind of personal torment their fuels her brand. Barks elaborated, “Things must end for a new door to open and the wrong door will close for the right path to be revealed. It’s funny how I wrote this track inspired by me constantly fucking up relationships with people I engage or work with. As a butterfly can cause a storm by flapping its wings several weeks earlier, with my wings… much more like those of a Pterosaurs. Makes me wonder if I’m the mad person or if I’m just following the path that’s been laid out for me, playing my part in this chaos theory.”

In addition to the arrival of This Is Doom Trap, Mimi Barks Mimi Barks will embark on an EU/UK tour next month with Yonaka. The tour kicks off March 1st in Brussels, includes a stop in London’s and concludes in Brighton on the 27th. Mimi Barks will also be appearing at major festivals including Bloodstock Festival, Takedown Festival, Copenhell and Resistanz Festival. A full list of dates can be found below.
